Our Services

Advice and Information service

We can offer booked appointments at the office or at the Gurdwara in Central Hounslow or information over the telephone/email. Home visits are only available to those who cannot make it to the office.

9-5.30 Monday to Friday

Deaf Community Services

We have a dedicated worker for the Deaf community of Hounslow, particularly those whose first language is British Sign Language. We provide a range of support from general enquires to welfare benefit applications and advocacy.

On behalf of Hounslow Council we also provide the Supporting People service to British Sign Language users in the Borough. This project is only available to people whose first and preferred language is British Sign Language who live in Hounslow and need support with housing related issues to living independently in their own home, this may cover security of the home, debt or bill repayments and benefits.

The Deaf Community service is based at the Brentford Office.

9-5.30 Monday to Thursday

Access for All

We are concerned about both physical access to buildings, and access to information.

If a service is being provided from a building that you cannot get into as a Disabled Person, for example, because of steps, a narrow door or an intercom system you cannot operate, this may be against the law and we suggest that you contact us or the Disability Rights Commission (details under the next section).

Equally as a Disabled Person you have a right to receive information in a format that you can access, for example, braille, British Sign Language, on tape, or in large print. If a service provider is not doing this for you we suggest that you contact us at the Brentford offices.

There are also laws which cover Disabled Children’s right to an education and we suggest you contact the Disability Rights Commission.
